Trader joees Coloradans are in line for some sweet NBA action.
The Warriors have the Cleveland Cavaliers in a tough spot and the Denver Nuggets are also battling it out for playoff position.
With that, joes new trading partner, the Denver Broncos, has made a run at Denver’s prized first-round draft pick in 2019.
In this story, we take a look at how the Broncos are doing in the pursuit of their coveted first-rounder.
The Broncos will have the opportunity to land a top-five pick in this year’s draft, which is in its first round and likely to be even higher.
In 2019, the Broncos’ first-pick will be No. 17 overall.
That means that Denver could land a first- or second-round pick in 2020, or 2021.
And, if the Nuggets decide to take a shot on the top of the first round, they could be looking at Denver picking No. 18 overall.
The Broncos have the ability to move down and pick up the 2020 pick if they decide to do so.
This could be an ideal time for the Broncos to pick up a high pick in the 2020 draft.
As we mentioned above, the Nuggets have been working with the Cleveland Browns, who are one of the top draft targets for the Denver team.
This past offseason, the Cleveland organization made a deal with the team to acquire three first- and second-rounder in 2019 and 2020.
This will give the Nuggets the chance to draft one of those picks with the 2018 first- round pick.
The two first-year players acquired by the Browns will help Denver with the transition to the NBA.
They will help fill out a core that already includes DeMarcus Cousins, Tyreek Burwell, Malik Beasley and C.J. Watson.
The Browns also have a lot of depth, which means that if the Broncos make a push for the 2020 first- pick, they’ll be able to add some veteran talent that could help their rebuilding effort.
Denver could look to add another high-level guard in this draft, such as Trey Burke.
Burke is currently a restricted free agent, but could sign with Denver if the team is in the market for a guard.
The 2018 first overall pick has a 2019 salary cap hit of $3.5 million.
If the Broncos draft Burke, they would have $3 million remaining on the 2020 salary cap.
Burke could be the ideal replacement for Andrew Harrison, who is currently on the open market.
The Nuggets also have the chance at adding another guard with the 2019 first- overall pick, which could be Eric Bledsoe.
Bledsoes ability to defend the perimeter is impressive, and he could also be an upgrade over Andre Miller.
The Denver Nuggets need a guard with size and athleticism to replace Harrison.
The Cleveland Browns also added some quality talent on the wing, including Jordan Adams and Alex Len, who could complement the likes of Allen Crabbe, Isaiah Briscoe and Jordan Clarkson.
