The Nets are trying to get the services of a big-man who can score, the Times said.
The Times also reported that Jackson will get $1 million per season.
He has played for the Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers.
He has a max contract of $24 million this season, and has played in the NBA since 2009.
He will be 34 when he becomes a free agent in 2018, and he said he wants to play for the Lakers.
