The pair have long been close to one another, having previously worked together on a project called ‘Hangover’ and have even co-written a new comedy film with the comedian, which has now been adapted into a film.
Now, in a new interview with the Independent, Murray and Walker, who were part of the original team behind ‘Hangs’, are talking about their differences with one another.
“We’ve had a very close relationship,” Walker said.
“We’ve talked about everything from working on films and TV shows, to what we’d like to do for the future.
He’s the kind of person who will say, ‘I know you’re going to say, but there are some things that I would love to do, but I’ve got to work on that first’.”””
There’s been a lot of great films and shows on TV, but the thing that I’ve always liked about him is that he can actually be quite serious and honest with you.
He’s the kind of person who will say, ‘I know you’re going to say, but there are some things that I would love to do, but I’ve got to work on that first’.””
I love working with him,” Murray continued.
“Craig is the most relaxed, down-to-earth person I know, and he’s got a genuine sense of humour, which is really important to me.”
“I know that there are people in Hollywood who say that they don’t want to do comedy anymore because they’re worried that they’re not funny,” Walker added.
“I’d like people to just say, you know what, I’m just not as serious as you think I am, and it’s not just about the work, it’s about the people I’m working with.
So that’s why I love working alongside Craig.””
It’s about making the best comedy that you can, not the best joke.
So that’s why I love working alongside Craig.”
Murray and Walker’s collaboration on ‘Hells’ was a major success, as it earned them an Oscar nomination for Best Comedy Short, which they both received for.
“The Hangover” also earned Murray a Golden Globe nomination, and was nominated for three more Oscars in 2016, winning two for the director and one for the cast.
Murray and his co-stars John Cusack, Sam Elliott and David Cross are set to return for ‘The Hangovers’ in 2017.
